| 内容記述 | This paper focuses on Japanese women who married Chinese men and migrated to Shanghai to reside with their husbands, based on 16 semi-structured interviews conducted from 2011 to 2012. In this marriage migration model, no obvious gap exists between the economic levels of Japan and urban China. According to our interviews, these women met their Chinese husbands in various ways. Respondents emphasized that they married because they recognized preferable partners; that is, nationality was not a factor. However, once married and situated in Shanghai with children, women were forced to reconcile the cultural and linguistic differences. Typically, they had to choose whether their children should be educated according to traditions of the Chinese, Japanese, or some other nationality to become "globalized" individuals. These decisions reflect the delicate sociopolitical power balance that exists that concerns marriage migrants who build their lives at the fringes of nation states. By examining the wives’ efforts to adjust to living in their husbands’ countries, we can understand some of the cultural conflicts that arise in the age of globalization, and thereby provide directions for public support for multicultural families. 本稿は、2011年から2012年にかけて上海で行ったインタビュー調査に基づいて、中国人配偶者と結婚して上海で生活する日本人女性を中心に、国際結婚による多文化家族の現状と問題点を明らかにする。国際結婚では、女性が居住地を移動するケースの方が、男性が移動するよりも多く、経済的格差がその背景にあることも多い。そのため、国際結婚による異文化間ギャップの中で再生産役割を担う女性たちが、様々な困難に直面していることが明らかにされてきた。本稿の事例は2000年代に密接化した日中関係を背景としているが、このふたつの社会に経済的に大きな差異はなく、調査対象者も経済的に安定した環境で生活している。しかし、多文化・多言語環境で成長する子どもの教育や自身のキャリアについて、母親である女性が対処、交渉しなくてはならず、悩みが共有されていながら、周囲からのサポートが得られにくい状況が明らかになった。本稿はこうした彼女たちの語りを通して、グローバリゼーションにおけるジェンダー関係の変容と矛盾を考察し、多文化家族への公的サポートの可能性について論じる。 | |||||
