| 内容記述 | 木綿は漢代に西域ルートで中國にもたらされ、また海南島等、中國南部において栽培されていた。次第に中國本土に導入され、元代までには廣く栽培され、明代になると産業として成長し、特に揚子江下流地域は大生産地に成長していった。後者の北進ルートが単に木綿製品というだけでなく、栽培という觀點からの導入・普及の經路であり、初期の西域からのルートはエジプトメンの導入ルートであった。本論は主として、木綿の紡績に関わる技術のあり方について、元代の王禎の『農書』(1313)を中心に分析し、その技術觀が明代の徐光啓の『農政全書』(1639)において批判的に評価されていったことについての議論を行った。 | |||||

| 内容記述 | In the Nongshu (1313), Wang Chen discusses cotton textiles from the points of view of its introduction and distribution in China as well as problems concerning tools and instrumental development. In the posthumously published Nongzheng quanshu (1639), Xu Guangqi critically evaluated Wang Chen's contribution to the development of instrumental devices from the perspective of the introduction and cultivation of cotton in various districts. Xu also discusses cotton cultivation based on his own experience and the prospects for a mature textile industry. On basis of these two contributions to the development of the technology of cotton textiles, the author discusses the history of the Chinese cotton textile industry from the beginning up to the early modern period. | |||||
