| 内容記述 | 本稿の目的は、行動履歴などのユーザー関連情報の活用に関する消費者の意識を把握することにある。そのために、筆者は、質問票調査を実施した。以下、その調査結果をもとに現状と課題を報告する。本稿では、Web調査会社の協力を得て、消費者に、(1)データ活用に対する全体的な期待と懸念、(2)企業の情報収集活動に対する態度、(3)企業の情報利用に対する態度、(4)企業による個人情報の収集と使用に対する一般的な懸念について質問した。調査結果より、以下の点が明らかになった。まず、自己情報統制権に関しては、企業の情報活用に対する不安より期待の方が大きい参加者は情報の「確認」や「修正」を希望する。他方、不安の方が大きい参加者は「消去」「第三者への提供の制限」「情報の保存期間の制限」を希望することが明らかになった。次に、「情報銀行」に対する態度については、高い期待を持つ回答者は、個別の種類の情報を「情報銀行」に委託することに賛成したが、強い不安を感じている人は、共有することに同意する情報の種類として「趣味」または「なし」を選択する傾向があった。 | |||||

| 内容記述 | A questionnaire survey was administered to grasp consumer awareness of the utilization of userrelated information such as action histories. This paper reports a second study conducted to apprehend the current status and issues based on the results of the stated questionnaire. For this study we asked consumers about their (1) general expectations and concerns, (2) attitudes toward information collection, (3) attitudes toward information use, and (4) general concerns about the collection and use of their personal information by companies. The study yielded the following findings. First, participants with more expectation than anxiety desired to confirm and correct their information but those sensing greater anxiety desired erasure, limited provision to third parties, and a restricted period of information retention. Respondents with high expectations approved of the entrustment of discrete types of information to “information banks,” while individuals sensing high anxiety tended to select options labeled “hobby” or “none” as the types of information they would agree to share. | |||||
