| 内容記述 | Okinawa and Jeju Island located at the southern most geographically and resemble it historically. I considered similarity and the difference of both islands based on the results of research. A common point of Okinawa and Jeju Island is that there are more rain and typhoons than the mainland. Therefore both islands had various wisdom in a house to prevent those damage. For example, as a common factor of both islands, it is the stone wall around the site. These stone walls are similarities of the village landscape of both islands. However, It is different in the materials of the stone wall. A thing of Jeju Island is a basalt and is a coral stone in Okinawa. After all it is the difference in condition of the soil of both islands, and this is the local unique culture. The common point in the placement plan of both islands accepts south periodic wind in summer. Jeju Island has a Korean stove and a dirt floor conveyed by the mainland for winter heating. It becomes in both islands in Okinawa that a central room does not have a dirt floor that totally different. As a result, I clarified characteristic of the village and the traditional house in both areas. | |||||
