| 内容記述 | 2019年2月24日、沖縄で実施された県民投票は辺野古沿岸への普天間飛行場移設・新基地建設のための「埋め立て」の賛否を問うもので、沖縄の民意をあらためて示す一つの重要な機会であった。本稿は沖縄の地方新聞である『沖縄タイムス』と『琉球新報』が県民投票をめぐる争点や沖縄の民意をどのように伝えたのか、その報道の特徴を明らかにすることを目的としている。報道内容の分析を通じて、2つの側面― 県民投票に関する「全県実施」の可能性と「反対」の民意を強調していることを、その特徴として指摘した。 | |||||

| 内容記述 | On February 24, 2019, a prefectural referendum was held asking Okinawan voters about their approval or disapproval of the land reclamation work for the construction of the Futenma Replacement Facility (FRF) on the shore portion of Camp Schwab in Henoko district. It was the ideal opportunity for the Okinawan people to once again demonstrate their clear opposition to FRF's construction. This paper aims to analyze how Okinawan local newspapers, OKINAWA TIMES and RYUKYU SHIMPO, covered the prefectural referendum and reflected the Okinawan people's will, and indicate some characteristics of news coverage. I conclude that the news reports as a whole focused on two interrelated issues: participation in the referendum across Okinawa Prefecture and the Okinawan people's will against the land reclamation. | |||||
