| 内容記述 | 課題の解決は負荷そのものの消失を意味し，図式化の進展は負荷レベルの低下をもたらす。出力は負荷に応じてしか上がらない以上 (仮説1) ，そうした低負荷状態のもとでは実出力は低迷し， せっかくの余剰出力も， もはや微々たる快感しか生み出すことができない (仮説3) 。こうしてホモ・サピエンスは，何の課題もない理想的な適応状態のもとで， よろこびではなくよろこびの欠如，つまり退屈を経験する。基本仮説 1）出力は負荷に応じて加減される 2）出力の調整には若干の時間遅れがある 3）余剰出力は快感を生む 4）図式化の進展は出力を減少させる 5）適応の成功は退屈を生む | |||||

| 内容記述 | Boredom is the great problem of the civilization. The "Schema-operating Model of Mind" which had been presented in "The Mechanism of Laughter" (1983) is elaborated here to explain what boredom is. Basic assumptions are; 1) Human mind can be conceived as a information processing system in which a more or less schematized program ("schema") is driven by the activating signals supply the detail mechanism of which is not yet known. 2) The amount of this signals supply ("psychic energy") is to be automatically accomodated to the necessary lebel of activation ("arousal") to operate the schema in a given situation. 3) If there is a certain time-lag for adjusting the activation level, it is possible that some shortage or excess of signals supply result from sudden loading or disloading of a given schema. 4) The former, shortage of ativation signals, gives the feeling of surprise and the latter, surplus "energy", generates the sense of pleasure. 5) A solution of any ploblem (or any successful adaptative activity), by which the schema in operation is unloaded, makes the activating signals surplus and creates the sense of pleasure, which has been called "internal rewards". 6) The pleasure of success becomes greater in propotin to the degree of the activation, in other words, to the psychic tention or subjective efforts. 7) The more successfully man assimilates the world and schematizes his activity, the less pleasure he will experience by the same activity. 8) In the ideal state of adaptation where the world is taken for granted through the appropriate schema operation, human mind has to endure severe absence of pleasure, that is boredom. | |||||
