| 内容記述 | The translations of dialects edited by Western missionaries include Fujian dialect translation, Shanghai dialect translation, and Cantonese dialect translation. Among them, the quantiy and the quality of Fujian dialect translations are more and more distinctive. At that time, the missionaries used Latin as the basis to create a new phonetic language which is called BaiHuaZi, also known as the Roman word. They are using this emerging text to translate Aesop's fables into dialect versions. This paper attempts to use the dialect dictionary compiled by the 19th century missionaries to interpret the contents of the above dialect versions, and tries to translate them back into Chinese characters, from the aspects of content, language, publishing, communication, and influence of works. On this basis, we also try to compare the translations of various dialects and other Chinese translations of Aesop's fables. As an indispensable part of Chinese translation of Aesop's fables, the translation of dialects has a great significance not only to the study of Aesop's fables, but also to the evolution of dialects. | |||||
