| 内容記述 | This paper focuses on how the phenomenon of the split questions (henceforth, SQ) seen by (1) should be analyzed as a comprehensive derivation process. (1) ‘What tree did Juan plant, an oak?’ (Arregi 2010. 540) First, we find that wh-part (what tree) is followed by tag (an oak?) as illustrated the in (1), and divide the answer portion of SQ into four types as a category and we classify into a total SQ-Type1 (DP), SQ-type2 (vP), SQ-type3 (PP, AP), SQ-type4 (CP) and so on. In the following second article, we examine the previous studies about SQ, or Camacho(2002) Arregi (2010) and López-Cortina (2007), and point out that unsolvable problems are seen by these analysis. In order to solve the problems in these analyses, I would like to propose Sharing Confirmation (SC) analysis that can newly explain SQ phenomena comprehensively in this paper. Concretely, we develop the alternative analysis that connected Arregi &Centeno (2004)’s original concept sharing with confirmation phrase formation. Moreover, since it is argued that the interrogative What in (1) is in fact an WH-expletive which is differing from the usual interrogative sentence, we can account for many properties which are not covered in other analysis. |
