| 内容記述 | Studies on personality traits of athletes have inconsistent results, even though they have used a variety of measures. The purpose of this study was to delineate personality traits that distinguish student athletes from non-athletes, based on the Five-Factor Model. Student athletes (188 males) and non-athletes (68 males) completed a questionnaire. Scores on each of the Big Five personality traits—Neuroticism, Extraversion, Openness to Experience, Agreeableness, and Conscientiousness—were compared between groups. Results showed that student athletes reported higher levels of Extraversion, Conscientiousness,and Agreeableness and lower levels of Openness to Experience and Neuroticism than non-athletes did. | |||||

| 内容記述 | アスリートのパーソナリティについては，様々な測度を用いて研究が行われてきているが，一貫した結果を得られていない。本研究では5因子モデルに基づき，体育会男子学生のパーソナリティ特徴について検討すること目的とした。大学の体育会部活動に所属する男子学生188名と一般男子学生68名を対象に質問紙調査を実施し，両グループの各パーソナリティ得点を比較したところ，体育会男子学生の方が一般男子学生よりも外向的，活動的であり，意志が強く，利他的に行動しやすい傾向があり，また伝統に重きを置き，権威主義傾向が高く，情緒的に安定している可能性が示唆された。 | |||||
