| 内容記述 | The Japanese word “Koukoku,” which means the translation and coinage of advertising, was used after the Meiji Era instead of “Hirome,” which just means spread out. The author conducted an extensive literature review to document examples of Koukoku in the literature following the Meiji Era, and describes them in this paper. This effort may prepare the way for a deeper investigation in the form of media studies into the definition and meaning of advertising in Japanese society and culture. | |||||
