| 内容記述 | The present study, on the basis of literature review on intergenerational relationships between elderly parents and their adult children, proposes the following hypotheses for future empirical researches. First, in addition to the modernization, cultural-norm, and demographic-factor approaches that were mainly used by previous Japanese studies, the institutional-factor approach is useful for understanding elderly parents-adult children relationships in contemporary Japan. Second, the welfare system with strong male-breadwinner characteristics is identified as the major institutional factor that affects Japanese elderly parents-adult children relationships. Third, intergenerational relationships in contemporary Japan can be formalized as the coexistence of gendered-bilateral relationships for everyday support and patrilateral relationship for activities relevant to lineage keeping，such as inheritance. In the final section, future research agendas are discussed. | |||||

| 内容記述 | 本稿では、高齢者一成人子の世代関係について、理論枠組みと実証的研究のレビューを行い、それをもとに以下のような仮説を提案する。第1に、現代日本における家族内の高齢者一成人子関係を説明するための理論枠組みとして、「近代化論」「文化的規範論」「人口学的要因論」に加えて、「政策・制度論」が有効である。そして現代日本における政策・制度は「男性稼ぎ主」型と特徴づけることができる。第2に、現代日本における家族内の高齢者一成人子関係は、「"日常的援助における性別分業にもとづく双系"と“系譜における父系"の並存」としてとらえられる。そして男性稼ぎ主型の政策・制度はこのような世代関係のあり方と適合的である。最後に今後の研究課題として、“日常的援助における性別分業にもとづく双系"と“系譜における父系”という2つの原理を、人々はどのように調整し使い分けているのかを実証研究で明らかにすることの必要性を指摘する。 | |||||
