| 内容記述 | The purpose of this paper is to critically examine two widely accepted concepts: houseworks as "unpaid reproductive labor performed by women for her family within the household", on the one hand, and modern society as "separated between the public and private spheres", on the other. Firstly, it is shown that how the accepted concept of housework has developed, and has been deeply affected by the image of society consisting of the two separate spheres. Secondly, it is revealed using historical and contemporary studies that the orthodox concept of housework can not capture people's varied experiences of housework, and that the boundary between the public and the private is being socially constructed, and consequently always shifting and ambiguous. And finally, new frameworks are presented for understanding varied cases of housework, on the one hand, and the relationship between the so-called "public" and "private", on the other. | |||||

| 内容記述 | 本稿の目的は、第一に、今日広く用いられている家事概念、つまり「家内領域において、家族のために、女性が行なう無償の、労働力再生産のための労働」を批判的に検討し、その限界を示し、これに代わる家事をとらえるための視点を提案することである。第2に、近代社会科学において暗黙の前提となっている「公共領域と家内領域の分離」という社会認識についても、同様のことを行なう。これらの目的のために、まず、「家事は労働ではない」と考えられていた段階から、どのような段階をだどって、「家内領域において、家族のために、女性が行なう無償の、労働力再生産のための労働」という家事概念が形成されてきたのかを見る。そしてこの家事概念が、「公共領域と家内領域の分離」を自明視する、近代社会科学の社会認識のあり方と密接に関わってきたことを示す。次に、この家事概念によってはとらえられない家事が、実際には多く存在すること、また公共領域（とされるもの）と家内領域（とされるもの）の境界は、その本質として、様々な社会的行為者による社会的構築の過程にある流動的なものであることを、歴史的な事例を中心にして示す。最後に、家事を実証的に把握・分析するための視点、および公共領域（とされるもの）と家内領域（とされるもの）の関連をとらえるための視点を提案する。 | |||||
