| 内容記述 | The site of Saqqara Necropolis is not far away from modern political capital of Egypt, Cairo by almost 20km south of it. It is part of what we call great Memphite Necropolis. The site has a long history in relation with the History of Ancient Egypt and a lot of archaeological monuments are scattered there. Its funeral monuments vary in its shape and function. There are cemeteries devoted to sacred animal burials and to human burials too. The cemeteries have both private and royal tombs and witnessed the earliest change in the royal tomb from the mastaba-type to aimed pyramid shape tomb, in what is known as Step Pyramid of Djoser. The varied daily-life scenes show different aspects of life of both royal and private ones through different periods especially from Old Kingdom and New Kingdom periods and hint various activities of Egyptians at that time and to the internal and external acts of those who held responsibiities over Egypt. Those aspects and other themes will be discussed. In addition to that, a brief note on the ongoing archaeological expeditions at site will be shaded too. | |||||||
