| 内容記述 | This paper examines a group of six-century steles from the Silla kingdom known as the Namsansinseong-bi, providing textual analysis and an examination of the degree of standardization and nature of the orthography utilized in steles Nos. 4‒8 and No. 10. As a result, it is concluded that these steles do not conform to a strict standardization, that different calligraphers provided the original lettering for each of the steles, and that it is highly probable that a two-stage process was employed for making inscriptions in which the calligraphy was written directly on the face of the stone with a brush and then carved into it. It is also believed that the people involved in this process were those who appear in the stele texts, in other words, members of the various groups providing the labor for the construction of the Namsansinseong. | |||||
