| 内容記述 | Ontological problems are almost as old as philosophy itself. But in the 20th century they seemed to have been finally dissolved by so called analytical philosophers like G. Frege, B. Russell, and W.V. Quine. They are largely unanimous in the view that to admit 'exist' as a first level predicate would lead to the absurdity of regarding existence as a property on one hand, and to the paradox generated by negative existential propositions on the other. Their views, which are named by B. Miller 'redundancy theories of "exist"', are roughly and critically sketched in this paper. | |||||
