| 内容記述 | The present article examines the process of how Hieroglyphics and Chinese characters have been studied in parallel. The article includes the author's examination of how the perspective on relationships between Hieroglyphics Studies and Chinese Writing Studies was modified in the 19th century. To begin, we are going to outline several ideas of Sinologists on Egypt-China relation, that are formulated from the 17th century to the 19th century. Secondly, we will examine epistemological obstacles that prevented European Chinese Studies from facing the phonographical aspect of Chinese Writing. Lastly, we are going to analyze the development of Phonological Studies in the 19th century, and remark a similar tendency in Chinese Writing Studies in Europe. | |||||
