| 内容記述 | 『知性の導き方』では， ロックは， 『人間知性論』を基にして，人間の知性の生まれつきの欠陥を正して，知性を誤りなく導くためには， 「全体を見通した感覚」を持って，理性を使い，証拠が示す確実さの程度に応じてさまざまな考えを受け容れるべきであると論じ，宗教においてもすべての人間は正統に生まれついており，その信条を批判的に吟味せずに盲信していることが正統と異端の問題を作り出す源であることを指摘している。『パウロ書簡 義訳と注』では，救いの知識は神の啓示によってのみ得られると考えて，パウロ書簡を検討し， 「アダムの不従順によって死ぬべき定めを受けたすべての人間を， イエス・キリストは生命へと復活させられる。その中で， イエスは救い主であると信じ，悔い改めて神の法を誠実に行なおうとする者は－信仰によりキリストを受け容れる者は，キリストの霊を与えられて，新しい人間に生まれ変る－，罪に陥ることはあるけれども，神の恵みにより救われて，復活の後永遠の生命を受ける｡」という，キリストを通しての神の恵みを基にする救いの道筋を『キリスト教の合理性』よりも詳しく，明確に提示している。 | |||||

| 内容記述 | In CU Locke asserted on the basis of HU that, in order to correct natural defects in human understanding and conduct it right, we ought to have 'round-about sense' and use reason, assenting to various thoughts according to the degree of certainty which evidence showed. He further pointed out that in the field of religion all men were born to orthodoxy and that the problem of orthodoxy and heresy originated in a blind belief in the orthodox principles without critical examination. In PN he maintained that 'the knowledge of salvation can be got only through divine revelation', examined closely the Epistles of St Paul, and presented more minutely and clearly than R the way to salvation based on the Grace of God through Christ, that 'Jesus Christ restores to life all men sentenced to death for Adam's disobedience, and that among them, those who believe that Jesus is the Messiah, and repent and sincerely endeavour to live by the law of God - those who receive Christ by faith, with him receive his spirit and are reborn the new man - , though they sometimes lapse into sin, are saved by Grace and given eternal life at the resurrection'. | |||||
