| 内容記述 | Recently, the electronic information network, including the internet and its social applications, has been growing rapidly toward the "Information Revolution" on a social and historical scale. In this chapter, we discuss the significance of the growing information network for industrial behavior in the forthcoming economic globalization. First, we summarize the technological and social aspects of the development of the information network. Secondly, we review Regulation Theory - an economic theory concerning "Fordism," and examine the industrial changes in the 1990's from this viewpoint. Finally, we consider the specific features of industrial society in the 21st Century. Issues of this study are as follows: (1) The growing network tends to decrease the importance of the mass production system, characterizing "Fordism," and to enhance economic modular structure, characterizing "Post-Fordism." (2) Consistent scheme of "Post Fordism" would be established, if high productivity is realized through information technology toward not only "Wealth as Quantity" but also "Wealth as Quality." (3) Capital could be accumulated based on an "Economy of Network" of R&D capital hereafter rather than "Economy of Scale" of production capital so far. | |||||
