| 内容記述 | Transportation research has been considered mainly focusing on transportation related to economic activities. Transportation economics and transportation studies have been the main roles of transportation research. However, human activities that need to overcome distances are not limited to economic activities. Transportation consideration today, including economic activity, needs to be done from a broader perspective. To that end, we have to summarize the past of transportation research and look forward to the future. At that time, the role of transportation economics and transportation studies differs somewhat. Transportation economics and transportation studies fulfill a different role to elucidate transportation phenomenon. The former performs generalization, conceptualization based on various kinds of transportation phenomena. The latter elucidates different individual transportation phenomena in each using a former theory and submits a problem about an incompatible phenomenon with the theory. The raising issue by the latter can contribute to development of the economics through consideration of the transportation economics. But it has limits of "the economics as the science" and economics in itself. Transportation studies make up for it. However, the elucidation of transportation studies is not universal, but individual and concrete. Transportation economics makes generalization. The difference in character of both is difference in episteme and phronesis. The social science needs both. As far as transportation is indispensable for the human happiness pursuit, transportation economics and transportation studies to elucidate transportation phenomenon remain important both. | |||||
