| 内容記述 | 本研究の目的は、高齢の母親を介護する息子がどのような社会的環境に置かれているのか、それが時代とともにどのように変遷しているのかを明らかにすることである。主に統計データを用いて、高齢の母親を介護する息子の社会的背景を導き出し、それが息子介護者の介護を行う上での心理状態にどのような影響を与えているのかを考察し、息子介護者への支援のあり方を考える一助とする。主に公的機関が公表している統計データを使用した。その結果、次の点が明らかになった。①親と配偶者のいない（以下、「シングルの」とする）息子との世帯が今後も増加すると推測され、同居しているがゆえに介護役割を担う息子介護者の増加が予想されること、②息子による高齢者虐待は他の続柄に比べて多く、その背景に社会的孤立や経済的困窮が潜んでいる可能性が高いこと、③企業内で介護に関する情報が行き届いておらず、仕事と介護の両立について見通しが立たず困惑する雇用者（会社等に雇われている者）が多数存在すること、④母及び息子が生きてきた時代背景から、現在介護している息子はジェンダー規範に支配された生活を送ってきた可能性が高いことである。本研究の結果から、親とシングルの子の世帯など閉鎖的になりがちな家庭を地域の見守りの対象とするなど息子介護者が孤立しないよう地域で支援体制を構築する必要がある。また、介護を行う雇用者が追い詰められて離職を選択するということがないよう介護に関する準備教育や相談窓口を設置するなど企業内で支援体制を構築する必要がある。さらに、ジェンダー規範にとらわれている息子介護者に対しては、支援者はその気持ちに寄り添いながら、介護を肯定的に捉えられるような関わりが望まれる。今後は、このような社会的環境にある息子介護者が実際にどの時期にどのような困難感を抱いているのかを明確にする必要がある。それにより、支援者がより適切に対応し、息子介護者の困難を予防的に回避できると考える。 | |||||

| 内容記述 | This study aimed to clarify the social background of sons who were taking care of their frail elderly mothers and how it has changed in the past several decades. The social background of caregiving sons was analyzed using statistical data published by the government and other public institutions. It is expected that households consisting of parents and single sons will continue to increase in the future, and inevitably the number of caregiving sons will also rise. Caregiving sons accounted for the highest proportion of perpetrators of elder abuse, and social isolation and economic distress might be the contributing background factors. Many employees facing the need to care for frail parents suffered from incompatibility of work and caregiving, because information on caring was not sufficiently delivered to them by their company. We considered that caregiving sons might be affected by gender norms, and that the division of gender roles was influenced by the ethos of the era in which mothers and their sons lived. It is necessary to create a support system in the community so that caregiving sons are not isolated. It is also important for companies to deliver information on caring in advance and to establish a consultation desk within the company. Furthermore, care professionals need to understand the feelings of caregiving sons who are under pressure of gender norms, and to support them in their caregiving so that they can accept the care situation positively. | |||||
