| 内容記述 | Yosa Buson (1716-1783) was a haiku poet and remarkably talented painter of Bunjinga (Japanese Literati Painting) and Haiga (Haikai paintings) from the Edo period. He made a folding screen based on Record of a Weather-Exposed Skeleton what was created by Matsuo Basho (1644-1694). The screen was produced in the form of a scroll in 1778, then tailored to the screen form. This work was related to the revival movement of Basho's poetic style during the late 18th century. Although the screen is Buson's haiga representative work, there are a minority of preceding studies about it. In this research, I compare the screen with Basho's scroll work and Buson's works based on The Narrow Road to the Deep North, moreover, I verify paintings of this work, considering that it was produced as a scroll not a screen originally. And this paper is clarified how Buson's paintings resonate with Basho's haikai. | |||||
