| 内容記述 | Sungkyunkwan, established in 1289, was Korea's preeminent educational institution in the Choson Dynasty (1392-1910). Confucian ceremony in Sungkyunkwan, officiated by the kings personally, were the most authoritative in the country. During the Japanese colonial period (1910-1945), Keigakuin grew out of Sungkyunkwan and became the central institution of Confucianism which was in charge of all the regional schools and academies. Confucian ceremony continued in Keigakuin but was held differently from that in Sungkyunkwan. This thesis examines the ceremonial changes by comparing Confucius ceremonies in Sungkyunkwan with those in Keigakuin, and explores the conflicts between Korean literati and the Japanese colonial government on the ceremonial issue as well as the importance of Confucian ceremony during the Japanese colonial period. | |||||
