| 内容記述 | What is the essence of Cultural Interaction Studies? For the answer, the author cites, based on his own research experience as an historian, a famous phrase－“it is the study of man”－first used by the renowned French humanist Hippolyte A. Taine (1828–1893) for defining the meaning of Literature. This is because man is the creator and inheritor of cultures, the actor of cultural interactions and the bearer of the consequences of such interactions. And the author emphasizes the importance of mutual understanding of different ethnic groups though close research on key persons in recent history, so as to discover the increasing interconnectedness of the modern world. | |||||
