| 内容記述 | This paper examines two stone monuments bearing inscriptions that exist on the island of Putuoshan, China. The stone inscriptions are lists of the names of those who made donations for the construction of the pilgrimage route leading the way to the mountain pilgrimage site of Putuoshan in the early 17th century. This study revealed that a large amount of money was donated by a large number of Buddhist monks and laypeople living in Ningbo, Hangzhou, Huizhou and other areas; that the financial strength of eunuchs also significantly contributed to construction of the pilgrimage route, and that donors also included many women. | |||||
