| 内容記述 | 本稿はフィリピン、ルソン島北部山地コルディリェラの東南部のイフガオ族における、伝統宗教の職能者とその活動の記述的研究である。キリスト教が受容される以前、フィリピンでは女性が宗教上の機能を果たすとされた。ところがイフガオ族では逆転した現象が見られ、イフガオ女性が宗教的祭司の役割を担わないという説が現在でも定説になっている。実際に儀礼を観察してイフガオ女性の位置を確認すると、微弱ではあるが女性が祭司となる回路も残され、周辺的ではあっても実際に儀礼を主導する場合もある事が判明した。ミシェル・ロサルドゥの論文(1975)は、彼女の専門であるイロンゴット族だけでなく、ルソン島北部における山地諸族にも、男女の象徴的な表象について文化分析を試みた。研究上の意図は大いに評価したいものの、イフガオ文化においては資料の吟味などに問題があると思われ、女性の位置も不当に貶められた調査データであることを指摘した。以上の文化表象について、現代の人類学で再考を促す必要があると思われる。 | |||||

| 内容記述 | This paper is a descriptive study on the Ifugao shamanism, especially native priesthood and women in the northern Luzon, Philippines. The Ifugao religion can be comprehended through ritual practices, such as prayers and chants, baki, offerings and sacrifices, which the author attempts to reconstruct. Nowadays the indigenous ideas and knowledge of religious practices are not shared with the younger generations, due to Christian influences, modernization, etc. In fact, Ifugao women participate in limited religious activities and seem to be excluded from native priesthood. However, there exist some examples of Ifugao women who were culturally allowed to be priestesses, though very few because of many difficulties. These examples should be reconsidered from old anthropological materials and the author's research data for better understanding about cultural representations by opposite sexes among mountain tribes, which is opposed to the Ifugao 'model' provided by Michelle Rosaldo (1975). | |||||
