| 内容記述 | In the current age of informatization, data are utilized in every field of society and the need for statistical tools for processing and analyzing these data is more essential than ever. On the other hand, the curriculum for data processing in primary education in Japan lessened because of the introduction of "the relaxed style education" in recent years. Under these circumstances, it is necessary for the statistics education at the university level to bear even greater responsibility in raising qualified personnel to the society. Seeking future developments of the statistics education at the university level, we conducted the essentiality survey for private enterprises and public institutions in March 2005. We investigated what statistical knowledge are thought to be necessary and how they are being utilized, and whether the current statistics education at the university level is responding to the requirement of society. We will further study the result of this survey to identify the needs of statistics in society and the evaluation of the statistics education at the university level. | |||||
