On the other hand, the curriculum for data processing in primary education in Japan lessened because of the introduction of \"the relaxed style education\" in recent years. Under these circumstances, it is necessary for the statistics education at the university level to bear even greater responsibility in raising qualified personnel to the society. Seeking future developments of the statistics education at the university level, we conducted the essentiality survey for private enterprises and public institutions in March 2005. We investigated what statistical knowledge are thought to be necessary and how they are being utilized, and whether the current statistics education at the university level is responding to the requirement of society.
