| 内容記述 | Technologies that offer great benefits also carry great risks as a reaction. As with any technology, a certain degree of risk must be accepted instead of the benefits it provides. However, the extent to which the risk is acceptable is an issue that must be judged on the basis of a balance with the benefits it provides. The degree to which a technology can bring benefits to society and the extent to which risks are acceptable depend on the situation and values of the society, and it is difficult to form a consensus as a society by comparing and equating those risks that are subject to subjective judgment. This paper is based on the 'Is Nuclear Power Safe?' (Shogakukan) and the 'Reconsideration of "safety goal" - Why do we need a safety objective? –' (Joint authorship, Yayoi Study Group on Safety Goals) , which I have written so far and this paper considers how to ensure safety in the use of technology. | |||||
