In the study I, to verify the validity of the three gates model, we examined the structure of attitudes of parents (average age; 43.7 , whose children are junior high school or high school students, about seeking help from teachers of their children. The results showed that the factor structure of negative help-seeking attitudes of parents consists of a sense of distrust, self-concealment stigma, and avoidance of help-seeking. The structure of positive help-seeking attitudes consists of anticipated effect/trust, anticipated empathy, parental role, and care for other people. It proved the validity of the three gates model. In the study II, based on the results from the study I, we presented the model of community practice using the approach of clinical social psychology to enhance help-seeking behavior of parents. In the study III, following the model presented in the study II, we provided the course of psychoeducation for families to create autonomic help-seeking attitudes of parents. There were eight sessions over the period of seven months. The number of participants was 171 for the first session and 301 for the last one. In total, 1,790 people attended the course. There were 48 clients who received the private counseling services we provided separately from the course. That proved the validity of the practical model. In addition, in the study IV, we carried out the questionnaire study of mothers with preschool-age children.
