In institutional theory, the term \"institutionalizastion\" means that certain practicies come to persistently restrain the agents' perception and action, From this perspective, the problem is not only nominal legislation or formalization of focal policies but also whether they are established substantially into institutionalized practices. We find six approaches from existing studies in institutional perspective to worklife balance policies in U.S. organizations: (1) organization strategic responsiveness; (2) specifying institutionalization factors; (3)workplace social context;(4) ambiguous and contested institutional rules;(5) roles of national agents and professions; and (6) social interaction among agents.
