| 内容記述 | 本研究の目的は、社会的排除と拒絶への反応に対する自尊感情の影響を検討することである。大学生は排除条件と拒絶条件の2条件に割りあてられ、主人公が暗黙裏に排除されるか、または参加を希望したのに拒絶されるかのいずれかの仮説的物語を読んだ。次に、知覚された受容、感情、社会性、友人や恋人からの受容期待に関する種々の質問に回答した。自尊感情高群も低群も排除より拒絶に対してより否定的な反応を示した。しかし、この2群は排除条件において、友人・恋人からの受容期待では異なる反応を示した。すなわち、排除条件において自尊感情低群だけが、受容期待を低めたのである。このような結果に対して、自尊感情低群の否定的関係的自己評価の観点から考察がなされた。 | |||||

| 内容記述 | The present study was conducted to examine the moderating effects of self-esteem on responses to social exclusion and rejection. University students who were assigned to either an exclusion condition or a rejection condition read a vignette in which a hypothesized main character was implicitly excluded from a group activity or rejected even though he or she had asked to join it. Participants were then asked various questions including perceived acceptance, affect, sociability, expected acceptance by their friends and their romantic partners. Both participants with lower self-esteem and those with higher self-esteem tended to have more negative experience when they were in the rejection condition compared with when they were in the exclusion condition. However, those two groups differed in their expectations of acceptance by their friends and partners when they were in the exclusion condition. That is, only participants with low self-esteem but not those with high self-esteem lowered it. These results were discussed in relation to the negative relational self-views of low self-esteem people. | |||||
