 note = {There is a Japanese-typical integrated community of small-and-medium-sized-enterprises in Higashi-Osaka city. In the face of bad conditions for the domestic and overseas economy, the community is forced to change itself. The author has studied this community far over 20 years and arrived at an idea that maintenance is the key to the revival of the community. As with machines, maintenance is required for the social relationships of the community. Therefore, they can make symbiotic or competitive relationships in their special field with each other. A choice from various possibilities determines the product evaluation of each company. A risk always exists, but there is always the chance of success. Just by encountering a trouble, they are motivated to find a solution and further improvement. There is no royal road in management, but daily efforts will make a road to success. In other words, no risk, no return. Therefore, it is necessary to rack their brains to make the best of the existing resources., 日本を代表する中小企業集積地である東大阪は、内外の厳しい経済環境に直面して、今大きな変革が求められている。過去20年以上にわたり定点観測を続けている著者は、その再生の糸口を地域のメンテナンスに求めている。機械をメンテナンスするように、地域の社会関係をメンテナンスすることが必要だということである。
自社の得意分野を中心に企業間での連携や対等な関係を保ちながら、多様な選択肢の中から確かな経営感覚によって自社の製品評価を高めていく。危機は絶えず存在するが、危機こそチャンスである。トラブルに遭遇して初めてそれを補修し、更に改善しようとするエネルギーが湧いて来るのである。経営に王道はなく、日々の小さな努力の集積が成功をもたらす。無から有は生じない。したがって、自社の既存資源を有効に生かすための知恵を絞り出す必要がある。地域の社会関係を動的にメンテナンスすることにより徐々に未来は切り開かれることを、以下に多くの事例を用いて述べる。},
