In order to help struggling writers of an academic research paper (especially those in English as a foreign language contexts), we will develop a web-based writing support tool. As an initial step toward the goal, in this study, we compiled a large corpus of published articles in the field of applied linguistics. By tagging the moves, we then extracted lexical bundles characteristic to those moves. The results confirm the effectiveness of the approach, which combine the move analysis of Swalesian genre theory and lexical bundles.
