The lesson was designed to promote sports cultures, which positively affects regional development, to build up legacies of the Olympic Games and to support the second career of a top athlete. The lesson enabled students to communicate with an Olympic athlete, stimulated their interest in the Olympics and sports culture, and encouraged them to form a habit of daily exercise. The lesson also served to improve the instruction techniques and methodologies of the school’s physical education teachers. The lesson impressed the children as they enjoyed the opportunity to interacting with an Olympic athlete while exercising, and they were encouraged to improve their knowledge about sports. The lesson further more succeeded in fostering participation and pride towards hosting the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games in their city, and refining the physical education teachers’ teaching methods. After the excitement of the Tokyo Olympics has passed, it is necessary for us to consider the legacy of the meeting.
