The aim of this study is to summarize the definitions of humor of previous studies, and to revise the concept of humor as a psychological construct, describing its uniqueness. Methods and Results First, 147 articles were collected and divided according to the way of how to define humor. Each group of articles was compared to show that there are several contradictions among their definitions of humor. There seems to be some misconceptions about humor and needs to make a revision of its definition. Next, examination was demonstrated to clarify the concept of humor as a psychological construct.
