 note = {Toto-Chan: The Little Girl at the Window is an autobiographical novel written by Tetsuko Kuroyanagi, published in March 1981 in Japan by Kodansha, and has been translated into various languages, as a good material for contrasting research between different languages. Author's ultimate goal is to consider the mainland Chinese versions based on previous research, and then proceed with the research by adding the Taiwan version as well. This paper focuses on words related to folk beliefs. After introducing the Chinese Versions, we compared each Translation version. Through the translations of each Chinese versions, we explored the translation characteristics of the Chinese versions of Toto-Chan: The Little Girl at the Window, and clarify the differences between the translations of Chinese mainland and Taiwan.
