| 内容記述 | Yan-Fu is not only one of the most famous translators in modern China but is also known as a proponent of path‒breaking ideas. “Science” is one of the key notions of the modern enlightenment. How did Yan Fu, who lived at the turn of the 20th century, conceive of “science”? How did he used the word “kexue”? This paper reconstructs Yan Fu’s discourses on “science” and related concepts in order to further our understanding of Yan Fu and contemporary conceptions of science. |
