る．, This study represents ongoing research on a collection of old Japanese photographs in the United States of America (USA), with particular attention to their feature as a specific locus for past international exchange between foreign countries. This study explains the patterns of intercultural exchange that appear in these photographs as well as their preservation and publication by genre in the USA. Furthermore, ideal methods for the future preservation and documentation of these photographs to elucidate the past processes of international exchange and intercultural understanding are also considered.},
