These industries have formed industrial clusters. They are deeply connected to the local community, and have achieved long-term survival. However, consumer lifestyles and production systems have changed in recent years. As a result, many traditional local industries are in a crisis of survival. By contrast, some traditional local industries have made efforts to survive. The survival of traditional local industries is an important issue for revitalizing local community and inheriting Japanese traditional culture. What kind of strategy is needed for a traditional local industry to survive?
