| 内容記述 | This paper introduces the brief biographies of the businessmen who were the founders of the celebration called Togai and Nangaku jyoi shukugakai of Hakuen Shoin. They were the students of Hakuen Shoin. Among the students, there were more people involved in business than those involved in politics, medical care, and education. In other words, the businessmen were the people who supported the prosperity of Hakuen Shoin in the Meiji era. It can be said that the people in this paper were those who especially supported Hakuen Shoin among the students. As a result of the consideration, it was found that they were appointed to the posts of the academic organization called Hakuenkai, and asked inshu of Hakuen Shoin to write classical Chinese. In addition, they established and managed modern industries such as banking and spinning, and were also enthusiastic about political activities, social works, and cultural activities. From these facts, it became clear that Chinese studies and modernization in Japan were closely related through their activities. | |||||
