| 内容記述 | The Tang dynasty established Anxi Tuhutu (安西都護府) in the 14th year of Zhenguan in (640) after Gaochang's destruction, but the complete survey of residence permit in this place began from the 17th year of Zhenguan (643). This three-year gap is the result of the surrounding circumstances. The preparation of making pilgrimages to Mount Tai, and Tiele's invasion of Ashinasimo forced the Tang to focus on solving internal problem first. Furthermore, Kharashahr returned to Western Turks after Gaochang's destruction, which means the Tang did not focus on western part preferentially. After that, Ipishekui Khan, who held the dominant power in the Western Turks region, accepted the title of the Tang dynasty, stating that the Tang dynasty had already started to operate in the Western region. It was not until the surrounding problems were gradually solved and the Anxi Tuhutu was transformed into a unitary system that the Tang formally ruled Xizhou. | |||||
