In historical materials such as "琉球使臣贈答録" from the Korean, "冊封使録", and "琉球官話集" in the late Ming or the early Qing Periods, the family of Kumemura was recorded and described their costume. As a result, Kumemura's scholars did not usually wear "Wang Jin" in the 16th century. That means the Confucian coming-age-ceremony was no longer held in Kumemura. According to "冊封使録", the level of Confucian Education in Ryukyū was deficient. The reason lies in the decay of Chinese Imperial College's Education and the lack of Ryukyuan monks' ability to interpret scriptures in the Mid-late 16th century.
