One of the most profound characteristics of\ncontemporary Japanese global migration is the large number of\nwomen therough ‘kokusai kekkon’ or cross-national marriage.\nAustralia, where I conducted my research, is one of the most\npopular country of migration for these Japanese women marriage\nmigrants. To investigate their interactions they carry out in the new\nsociety as a migrant woman, this essay in particular focuses how\nthese women begin to re-interpret their gendered self and social\nroles in the new context after migration. In the process, I\ndemonstrate how their ‘Japanese femininity’ is understood in a new\n（and even） positive light in the new host country.
