In the early Southern Sung dynasty, leading by the emperor Gaozong and his court, Wang Anshi and his New Policies was blamed for Northern Song's perdition. The official history, which was compiled from this political standpoint, basically decided the official historical materials of Wang Anshi and his reform. In the middle Southern Song dynasty, the scholars such as Zhu Xi and Lu Jiuyuan began to reflect and criticize more profoundly on Wang Anshi and his theory and New Policies. At the same time, the officials who participated in the local administration also established a deeper understanding of some measures of Wang An-shi's New Policies.
