The cost of search behavior is based on multiple strains as follows: physical, psychological, temporal, economic, and social. To determine the total amount of these strains, it is necessary to apply a common measure to all of them. The psychological measure is applicable to estimate the total cost, and it is estimated by the searchers themselves after finishing the search behavior. The performance of the search behavior is primarily the achievement of the search purpose, that is, the finding of lost objects. As a secondary performance, the avoidance of economic loss and the acquisition of psychological satisfaction are experienced. In daily living, \"finding out in a short time\" is generally accepted as \"the effective way to search\" for lost objects.
