| 内容記述 | In the first section of this article, we give a detailed discussion on the social and cultural environment wherein Ishida Mikinosuke began his research in Asian studies, in order to elucidate his scholastic background. The second and third sections are devoted to the evaluation of the achievements of Ishida Mikinosuke in Asian Studies. We show that his unique contributions can be summarized as follows: 1) Through his work on Toyo Bunko, he introduced to Japan and the entire world extensive materials concerning Asian Studies in multiple languages. 2) His 长安之春 illustrates the research method of using literature to investigate history ; that is his use of the history of 西域胡风 and cultural exchange between different regions, on folklore, poetry and novels from ancient times. | |||||
