| 内容記述 | This study examines Muro Kyūsō's thought on Confucian ritual, drawing primarily on the Fubōshō. Kyūsō situated the foundation of rites and music in filial care (kōyō) and argued that they should be adapted to contemporary circumstances and local customs rather than rigidly adhering to ancient precedents. He interpreted mourning, burial, and ancestral rites as a continuous practice of filial devotion and sought to integrate ancestral worship into everyday life. At the same time, although critical of Buddhist funerary customs, he cautioned against extreme anti-Buddhist measures and maintained a moderate stance, which constitutes a distinctive feature of his views. | |||||
