| 内容記述 | This paper reexamines Chen Liang's conception of the kingly way (王道) and the hegemonic way (覇道) by reconsidering his debate with Zhu Xi in light of his evaluation of Cao Cao (曹操). While many earlier studies have portrayed Chen as a consequentialist who merged the kingly way and the hegemonic way, a closer reading of the Longchuan ji (龍川集) shows that he integrated motivational factors like "selfish intent" into his political judgments. Chen defended the Han (漢) and Tang (唐) rulers by emphasizing their capacity and achievements, yet he sharply distinguished them from Cao Cao, whom he consistently portrayed as a genuine hegemon driven by personal desire. This contrast demonstrates that Chen did not uphold a theory of "unity of wang (王) and ba (覇)" but maintained a clear distinction between the two. This paper thus offers a more nuanced understanding of Chen Liang's political thought and its place in Song intellectual debates. | |||||||||
