| 内容記述 | This study aims to clarify the vocal particularities of the Hakka language by analyzing Kan Genmi's (官元未) findings on Hakka structurization, organizing it in a hybrid kana-based/original scripture system as outlined in his article published in the monthly magazine Taiwan Keisatsu Jiho (『台湾警察時報』) during the period of Japanese rule. His findings show that some of the tonal peculiarities of Hakka are also present in the Hailu (海陸) dialect. Moreover, the departing tone (去声) and some of its syllabic characteristics possess certain similarities to the Meixian (梅県) dialect. Furthermore, the absence of the laminal consonant (舌葉音) in Kan Genmi's analysis suggests that, by way of comparison with his other publication, the Kantongo Jiten (広東語辞典』), Hakka resembles the current form of the Sixian (四県) dialect more closely. These findings indicate that Kan Genmi's objective was to codify a contemporary variation of the Sixian dialect during his time using a vocalic kana scription system based on the foundations of Church Romanization orthography. | |||||||||
