| 内容記述 | Baosheng Dadi is a widely worshipped deity of medicine among Chinese communities, centered in Southern Fujian (Minnan) and Taiwan. Chinese medicine has had a significant impact on the medical aspects of the belief in Baosheng Dadi, ranging from Daoist philosophical concepts to distinct diagnostic and therapeutic systems, including observation, listening, interrogation, and pulsetaking (Wang Wen Wen Qie), acupuncture, and herbal formulas (Han Fang). This influence is evident in the developmental trajectory of his prototype Wu Tao's cultivation and study of medicine, his noble medical virtues of compassion for the people, and the related legends of curing the sick. It is also observable in religious-medical rituals preserved to this day, such as divination for prescriptions (Yao Qian) and ritualistic healing ceremonies (Ji Jie). In the ancient Minnan-Taiwan region, which often lacked adequate medical resources, knowledge of Chinese medicine was disseminated through the vehicle of faith, benefiting local devotees. This represents a constructive interaction between faith-based healing and traditional Chinese medicine. In the current era dominated by Western medicine, the belief in the medicinal deity Baosheng Dadi should not be dismissed wholesale as mere superstition. It retains significant value in providing spiritual healing and serves as a valuable cultural vehicle for promoting healthcare, hygiene, and wellness practices. | |||||||||
